Friday Fierce Loyalty Roundup: Good Taste, Memories & Online Learning

Today is Friday and it’s time for me to round up some of my favorite Fierce Loyalty reads and resources from the web!

Adieu to the Soceity of Good Taste. I’m so sad to report that one of my favorite examples of Fierce Loyalty, Grey Poupon’s Society of Good Taste, is no longer on Facebook. I loved to use the hilarious application process for this society as a teaching example of how to create exclusivity for a community in a very fun way. If you missed out on the actual application experience, I found this Youtube video to give you the quick low down. What can you learn and apply to your community? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2dXb_nqyjs

Omni Hotels Kicks It Up a Notch Omni Hotels is another one of my favorite brands when it comes to creating Fierce Loyalty. Their loyalty program rewards members IMMEDIATELY upon joining with great amenities like free internet, pressing service and coffee delivey. no waiting to accrue enough points to get amenity upgrades. Now guests can capture amazing travel experiences on camera, upload them to a special Omni/Snapfish site and Omni will turn them into personalized photo memory books or greeting cards. Howcan you become a part of your community’s memorable experiences?  http://loyalty360.org/resources/article/omni-hotels-wants-guests-to-capture-truly-memorable-experiences

Community and the Online Classroom This is one of the most exciting things I’ve seen this week: a course module for online faculty teaching them how to create community in the courses they teach. I often get asked if “this community thing” is just a fad. With this kind of training becoming commonplace in a wide variety of industries and settings, I think it’s safe to say that “this community thing” is here to stay. What kind of training do you offer your community? http://www.facultyclub.org/professional-development/

Emjoy your weekend!
